Association de Grands Crus Classés de Saint-Emilion
The vineyards of Saint-Emilion were awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999. The determination of the region’s winemakers to protect and preserve the landscape and its soils is indicative of the passion with which they nurture their vines and their wines.
United by this exacting approach to quality, in 1982 a group of twenty winemakers from Grand Cru Classé estates joined forces to create the Association de Grands Crus Classés de Saint-Emilion.
The association now counts 56 Grands Crus Classés among its members, committed to working together in the interests of ever greater quality. Representing almost 90% of Saint Emilion’s classified winemaking estates, the association showcases its members’ wines at numerous events and celebrations in France and all over the world.
La Cité du Vin is an initiative which chimes perfectly with the spirit of discovery and sharing which defines the Grands Crus Classé estates of Saint-Emilion. It was therefore only natural for our association to lend its support to this magnificent project.
